Information

Updated: Feb 18, 2019

Our goal is for every child in our care to have a fun day where they are learning and playing while making new friends. We want your child to feel like this is their second home where they feel safe and comfortable. They will be provided with lots of love and attention, along with fun daily activities to help them learn and grow. They will be taught to respect themselves and each other. Children will be encouraged through positive reinforcement to be nice to their friends, and treat each other and their school with respect.

We provide a daily structured program with the emphasis on creative art. We also work on getting ready for school through a morning preschool program for the older children. This program has daily crafts, songs, stories and so much more! We also thoroughly enjoy being outside, if the weather is acceptable.

TIME OF CARE

Your child(ren) will be cared for from Monday to Friday. Parents may bring their child(ren) to school from 06h30 and must collect them no later than 18h00. We will not be open on public holidays OR weekends.

Breakfast will be served between 07h30 - 8h00, therefore please ensure that your child is at school before 07h45 am or else please provide breakfast at home. Classes start strictly at 08:15 am. No breakfast will be served after 08h15.

FEELS LIKE HOME DAYCARE CENTRE is closed between Christmas and the first week of the New Year. Parents will be notified of closing dates well in advance.

Under no circumstances may children be dropped at the gate or in the parking. Please walk your child into the school, closing ALL gates behind you.

Children may only be fetched by their parents, legal guardian or nominee as specified on the enrollment form. No child will be allowed to leave the premises with persons unknown. It is therefore very important to keep information with regard to your child up to date.

CLOTHING AND OTHER POSSESSION

Please ensure that your child has two spare set of clothing (one cool, and one warm). Make sure that all possessions are clearly marked. No responsibility will be accepted for any lost possessions. Should you find anything in your child’s bag that does not belong to him/her please return it the next day to school.

Please do not allow your child to bring any toys OR snacks to school, because most children do not like to share their toys/snacks and it usually causes fights among the children. We provide water and fruit/ sandwich in the morning and afternoon. Birthdays may be the exception to this rule.

CONTAGIOUS DISEASES

We are, by law, not allowed to give a child any medication without the express written permission of a parent or guardian. The legal ramifications of giving children medication at day care without written permission is enormous and we are not willing to take that chance, so please do not expect any exceptions to this policy. Please enter the administering instructions into the medicine register. No medicine will be administered if it hasn’t been entered into the medicine register. Do not leave medicine in your child’s bag. Please make sure all medicine is clearly marked handed in for safe storage.

Children suffering from coughs, colds or any other infectious diseases as well as head lice etc. must be kept at home until they have fully recovered. Please inform the school if a child is to be absent and why.

Parents of a child with a diagnosed contagious condition (i.e. measles, pink eye, mumps, chicken pox, head lice etc.) are asked to notify the school as soon as possible, so that we may alert parents to watch for symptoms in their own children.

REGISTRATION FEE

An enrollment fee of R 650.00 is payable in advance to secure your child’s space. Registration fees are non- refundable.

DAYCARE FEES

The monthly school fees are payable strictly in advance and must be paid on or before the last day of each month.
